About Domaine Begude — Esprit Pinot Noir
A rare wine made only in exceptional vintages and in very small quantities.
The estate lies on high hills in the village of Cépie, at the foot of the Pyrenees in the upper Aude region of southern France.
Although in Languedoc, its cool, high-altitude climate makes it an unusual place where Pinot Noir can thrive, much as it does in Burgundy. Domaine Begude cultivates its own vineyards and makes its wines.
Characteristics of Domaine Begude — Esprit Pinot Noir
Organically farmed with natural compost only and no chemical treatments.
Made from 100% Pinot Noir, with three weeks of punch-downs to submerge the skins in the juice, then carefully aged in demi-muid barrels. Vegan certified.
Tasting Notes
Vivid cherry and raspberry fruit meets spice, pepper, and soft, melting tannins.
Deep and complex yet elegant and delicate, like a Burgundy finding its way to southern France.
Especially well suited to roast duck and game.
