Terms of service

These Terms of Service apply to all use of this online shop by customers. Any separate provisions established by the shop take precedence over these Terms where they apply.

Products sold through the shop include alcoholic beverages. In accordance with Japanese liquor tax law and related laws, we do not sell alcohol to anyone under 20. Customers must confirm that they are at least 20 when ordering. If we discover that an order was placed by someone under 20, we may cancel it. Do not provide purchased alcohol to minors. Any additional legal age requirements at the delivery destination also apply.

Some features are available only to registered customers. Provide accurate, current information when registering and update it promptly if it changes. You are responsible for keeping your account ID and password secure. We are not responsible for unauthorised use by a third party. We may cancel an account if false information is registered, these Terms are breached, or we otherwise determine that the account is inappropriate.

Completing checkout constitutes an offer to purchase. The sales contract is formed when we send an order confirmation email. We may cancel an order if a product is out of stock, payment cannot be confirmed, the customer is under 20, the address or contact details cannot be verified, or we otherwise determine that the order is inappropriate.

Product prices are the amounts displayed on the shop, including Japanese consumption tax where applicable. Prices may change without notice. The price displayed when the order is placed applies.

Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB and American Express) are accepted. Credit-card payments are made in one instalment. Available payment methods for an order are shown at checkout.

The domestic shipping charges stated in these Terms are ¥1,100 including tax for Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu, and ¥1,650 including tax for Hokkaido and Okinawa. Orders of ¥8,000 or more including tax qualify for free shipping to Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu. Orders are normally dispatched within 3–5 business days after confirmation. Yamato Transport handles domestic delivery, with time slots of morning, 14:00–16:00, 16:00–18:00, 18:00–20:00 and 19:00–21:00.

If you are absent at delivery, the carrier will leave a notice. Request redelivery within seven days. If a parcel is returned after the holding period, we treat it as a return for customer-related reasons. Contact us within 14 days of the confirmed return if you want reshipment; you must pay the actual outbound and return shipping costs. After 14 days, we may dispose of the goods. We cannot refund the product price for a customer-related failure to receive the parcel.

If an item arrives broken, leaking, incorrect or clearly defective, please contact us within five days of delivery. We will arrange an exchange or refund and cover return shipping.

Because alcohol is a food product, returns and refunds for a change of mind are not accepted. Opened or used products, products damaged or soiled after delivery by the customer, products reported more than five days after delivery, and products delivered by refrigerated service cannot be returned or exchanged. As a rule, confirmed orders cannot be cancelled. See the Refund Policy for details.

For customers residing in the EU or EEA, the shop states that the alcoholic beverages it sells fall within the exception for goods liable to deteriorate rapidly under Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU and are therefore excluded from the 14-day withdrawal right. If an item arrives damaged or was shipped in error, the response described in Article 9 applies.

The shop sells under a licence for mail-order retail sales of alcohol. Customers must not purchase alcohol for, or supply alcohol to, people under 20. Do not drink and drive. Drinking during pregnancy or breastfeeding may affect health.

Customers must not provide false information, use another person’s account without permission, resell or supply alcohol to people under 20, interfere with operation of the shop, violate laws or public order, or engage in other conduct the shop considers inappropriate.

We are not responsible for damage caused by natural disasters, communication or system failures, or other causes beyond our control. Differences in personal opinions about a product’s quality or taste are not grounds for return or refund. We will discuss delivery delays or losses with the carrier, but our liability is limited to the product price.

We handle customers’ personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may change these Terms when necessary. Revised Terms take effect when posted on the shop.

These Terms are governed by Japanese law. Courts with jurisdiction over the location of the shop have exclusive jurisdiction as courts of first instance for disputes relating to these Terms.
